StoryBoard
A storyboard is an illustrated representation of scenes within a film, animation or motion picture. There isn't typically very much text on a storyboard, and because of it sketches are the main source of information. Story-boarding is an important aspect in pre-production because it allows for a more visual understanding of the final result, this creates the opportunity for changes to be made to the scenes beforehand.
Location Release Form
The purpose of a location release form is to legally bind and solidify an agreement between the film's production company and an owner of property on which filming may take place. "By signing the release, the owner of the property forgoes the right to sue for specific types of claims."
Risk Assessment
A risk assessment is an examination and plan for potential events which could cause harm to crew, cast or equipment. A risk assessment is a crucial aspect of a film's pre-production due to it's ability to reduce the chances of major harm coming to those involved in the film and the equipment, for example having a first aid kit on set could be the difference between life and death.
Shooting Schedule
A shooting schedule is a structured plan for when and where the shooting of certain scenes takes place. It is an essential aspect of a film's pre-production because it ensures an organised method of filming.
Contingency Plan
A contingency plan is an examination and plan for potential events which could affect the shooting schedule. An example of this would be bad weather, which would affect the pre-made plan for filming and may even cause damage to the filming equipment.
Daily Cost Overview
A daily cost overview is used in pre-production to efficiently and effectively allocate the budget received for the film. The costs include but are not limited to: cast, equipment, development costs and set design.
Notice Of Filming
A shooting notice is used to let the general public know that shooting of the film is taking place on the premises. It is a legal agreement claiming if they enter the premises they will not be compensated in any way for the use of their likeness, image, voice, etc.
